The Novelist by Night

More Than Words…

Have you ever wanted to write a novel?  I know I have.  All of my life, I have loved to read and write.  During my early years as a tween, I began writing poetry and song lyrics to express my creative voice.  Music was a very important love and pastime for me.  I could play the piano or my guitar for hours without realizing that any time had passed.

Fast forward to the present day and my love for the written word has only grown, along with my deep admiration for great storytelling.  I am a successful businesswoman by day and a freelance writer by night, having read well over a thousand books and having some of my work published to date…

but, alas – no novel… YET!

Years ago, I was diagnosed with severe ADD (which explained a lot-lol).  And while my mind definitely races through multiple subject matters at basically the same moment in time, which in all honesty, is a major contributor to my creative nature, I can still read for hours on end.  A particular challenge that I face when writing is that I am a great starter, but not the best finisher of countless works.  You know what I mean…I have projects that I have begun, through the years, that each have around 20,000 words, but have never quite made it to a state of completion.

That is where you come in.  It is where I think we can be here for each other.  Writing, for the most part, is a solitary discipline.  But, perhaps it really doesn’t have to be so.  I think that there are a lot of  writers suffering from the

Novelist “Want-to-be” Complex.

How would you like to write a novel, at the very least a healthy first draft in 1 year or even sooner?  I would, and I think the Writer’s Dialog is a great platform to use in order to achieve this admirable and attainable goal together.

This is what I propose:

     *  Let’s use Writer’s Dialog to gather helpful information and resources that will assist, improve and motivate each other to accomplish our writing goals.

     *  Writer’s Dialog will set the stage for sharing parts of our work with each other to review and offer ideas.  Perhaps we can find betas that would be willing to offer editing suggestions.

     *  Writer’s Dialog will be the platform for a community of readers and writers seeking to improve talents and meet goals.

I’m ready!  And to be ready, you just have to be in the mood to read and perhaps practice your writing or editing skills to share.

And guess what? You may end up with a novel, or two!
